13 FEB 2014: Valley View, OH – Great Lakes NeuroTechnologies (GLNT) is again sponsoring scholarship awards to promote and support biomedical engineering education. Two $1,000 scholarships are available to Northeast Ohio high school seniors interested in studying biomedical engineering at a college or university in the fall of 2014.

The GLNT Dave Stolarski Memorial BME Scholarship and the GLNT Duncan Lowne Memorial BME Scholarship were launched last year as part of Great Lakes NeuroTechnologies’ ongoing commitment to give back to the community. “We were so impressed by the quality of submissions last year and the passion for biomedical engineering that the applicants expressed, we were inspired to offer the scholarships again this year,” said Holly Alexander, Scholarship Coordinator. “These scholarships honor GLNT team members who lost battles with diseases that could be impacted by innovations in biomedical engineering. It’s our belief that BME education for students can help to solve these types of healthcare challenges and we want to do whatever we can to support that.”

The deadline for submissions is April 30, 2014. More details on the scholarship can be found at the Great Lakes NeuroTechnologies website http://glneurotech.com/2014-bme-scholarships/
